Opossum House Accessibility offers the following services. These will help you achieve compliance and accessibility for all. You will benefit from a targeted approach and customized consulting. As Opossum House’s customer, you will provide better services and have more effective processes, and, of course, be able to better support people with disabilities. Opossum House can help with one or a combination of several of these services:

Process review, design, and development to implement and maintain accessibility in your outreach, services, and activities: Do you have a complex set of processes that make it hard for you to provide accessible service? Are you not sure if the way you do things is accessible for people with disabilities? Do you need policies and practices that help you follow the law and provide the best, most accessible service possible?

Opossum House can help! Opossum House and its Principal Consultant has supported clients small and large in the United States and Canada in reviewing and revising policies to be accessible, understandable, and usable. As a result of working with Opossum House, these clients are now better able to serve their clients – be they residents with cognitive disabilities, community college students with learning disabilities, or concerned citizens who are blind or low-vision.
Program management and oversight to use accessibility to provide more efficient and effective services and products: Do you have a project or initiative for people with and without disabilities that needs a guiding hand? Do you want to be accessible – and effective?

Our Principal Consultant has worked with organizations in the United States and Canada to build, design, and oversee projects and programs that educate people about accessibility, advocate for more inclusive communities, provide volunteering and hands-on experience for emerging professionals across North America, and serve customers with a variety of needs and desires.
Bespoke training on accessibility-related topics, rooted in your organization’s culture and practices: Our Principal Consultant has trained over 2,500 people on various topics related to accessibility – and has a strong portfolio and methodology that helps people understand accessibility in their context. Clients have seen “immediate results” after completing trainings – and have even found themselves becoming “fascinated” with accessibility!
Support for built environment professionals seeking to make accessible digital content and services: Our Principal Consultant brings a rare combination of deep digital accessibility knowledge and understanding of architecture, planning, geography, and engineering. He has helped hundreds of professionals across the country in making their site plans, maps, dashboards, and instructional materials usable for people with disabilities. Opossum House can help you make these materials accessible as well.
Accessibility audits and action plans supporting compliance and self-evaluations for public entities, businesses, and non-profits: Do you need to complete an Americans with Disabilities Act Self-Evaluation or an Accessible Canada Act Accessibility Plan? Do you need help ensuring your activities comply with international standards and state and provincial regulations across the United States and Canada?

For over a decade, he has helped entities of all sizes meet their legal obligations, and has helped clients across North America assess their digital and physical services and their programs for compliance needs and gaps.
Research and analysis reports on specific topics related to access for people with disabilities and older adults: Our Principal Consultant brings many years of writing and publication experience and a strong skill set in research to help you with assessing and analyzing key trends related to people with disabilities, older adults, and their needs. Much of his research and work, particularly on public restrooms and dementia, is freely available on the internet.
